Nightlife in Ulaanbaatar

Nightlife in Ulaanbaatar is what you make of it. If you want to have a good time and enjoy your few days in the capital, here are some places the locals frequent.

The Night Street

The night street of Ulaanbaatar opened in 2017 summer and it has been a big success since. Besides the Sukhbaatar/Chinggis square, there wasn’t any place for friends and family to get together and just enjoy the life of living city.

Businesses around the area are booming. From bars, food, live music, to public movie screenings, you will easily find exciting things to do around the area.

The National Amusement Park

Though it’s not anything like Six Flags or Disneyworld, it’s a decent place to go with your friends and family. A small amusement park for a small city.

Movie Theatres

As of the recent years, Mongolians have been frequenting the movie theatres more and more. While you can visit the old classic “Tengis” movie theatre which has been around the longest, people mostly prefer “Gegeenten” or “Urgoo”.

The National Park

You won’t find any roller coasters here, but you will find an open space with carnival games. From teenagers to groups of families, it’s a friendly and happy atmosphere where people go to relax and enjoy themselves.

You can ride bicycles, try your luck with the street games, and most importantly just enjoy the positive energy and vibe.

Bars and Clubs

If you just want to dance the night away, there is plenty of selection when it comes to nightclubs. The most popular ones are Zu, Mint, and Arigu. Entrance fees usually range from 10,000 Tugriks to 40,000 Tugriks.

It goes without a saying that if you decide to drink, make sure to keep manageable. Drunk Mongolians can get rowdy around foreigners.
