Then welcome lunch in a Mongolian restaurant.
Flight to Moron, capital of Khövsgöl province. We meet with our driver /s/ then from the airport drive to the village Tsagaan–Üür.
Now, you are in the north of Mongolia. Taiga is the dominant type of forest in this region and the whole of mainland Khövsgöl province. In there isolated smoking gers often give way to the beautiful wooden huts. Everywhere, herds of yaks, horses and sheep graze freely. The area is full of great ethnic diversity. Darhad, Urianhai, Buryats, or Tsataans retain genuine and strong traditions.
We will reach the village Tsagaan–Üür late in the evening, and you will be welcomed in a Buryat family.
Rest after a long and grueling journey. Then preparation for next 8 days: organization and distribution of equipment to pack, checking fishing equipment, etc. Walk through the village and looking at the location of river.
Today you will meet with the local guide who will accompany you with his horses. The bags, food and equipment are carried by pack horses.
8 days of independent travel with fishing in the Uur river. This wild river rises in the deep of the Red taiga, and he is a tributary of the Eg River, which is a tributary of the Selenge river which is flows into Lake Baikal and has a length of 992 kilometres. You go up the river to the north, which starts in about 30 km from the Russian border. Every day you progress to the rhythm of your peaches. The river is home to fish such as Lenok trout, Arctic grayling, taimen, but also predators such as perch and pike. Protected species such as taimen, however, must be released. You enjoy your catch to other diners.
You complete your progress daily on horseback (max 15 kms per day).
The area also has a rich wildlife, and forest surrounding the river are full of many species of animals: deer, wild boars, marmots, grouse, Chukars, woodcock, quail, ducks, swans, eagles, foxes, wolves.
Near the river are some winter nomad camps have a cabin constitutes a good shelter to spend some nights.
Today we will drive towards Moron for return in Ulaanbaatar.
