This 14 days “Mixed adventure” tour has been designed for travelers seeking varied experiences and pleasures. The emphasis is on outdoor activities, limiting vehicle trips. For four days you will walk on foot, accompanied by pack animals and discover the splendid natural site “eight lakes” and theirs wild nature.

Then, accompanied by your horse guides of the steppes starting your ride through the mountains of Khangai, and experience the main mode of travel nomadic country.

A camel in the heart of the dunes of “small Gobi”, you are immersed in the atmosphere of the legendary camel desert further south.Your 4WD will accompanied with you to visit important cultural sites and exciting of the famous Orkhon Valley.

Day 1Arrival in Ulaanbaatar and city tour

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar the capital city of Mongolia. Our guide and driver will greet you at the airport. Transfer to your hotel. Depends on time of your arrival, taken on city sightseeing tour including a visit the Gandantegchilen Monastery or “Great Place of Complete Joy”.It features a 26.5-meter-high statue of Avalokiteśvara. Then our tour takes you to the Chinggis Khan monument on the Sukhbaatar square which is heart of the city, and visit the Museum of National History. In the evening, you will enjoy a Mongolian Folk Music and Dance Performance “TumenEkh”. Then welcome lunch in a Mongolian restaurant.

Day 2Ulaanbaatar – Kharakhorum

In the afternoon, drive to the Kharakhorum. This ancient capital of Mongolian Empire was built as far back as the 8th century, and was the city of Khyatanempire with the name “TakhilShivee”. In 1220 ChinghisKhaan declared it as the capital city of his Empire. Until 1235, Karakorum seems to have been little more than a gertown, and Ögedei Khan gave the decree to build the Karakhorum. After the collapse of the Yuan dynasty, in 1388, Mingtroops took and destroyed the town. Visit the Erdene–Zuu, the first buddhistmonastery in mongolia. AbtaiSain Khan, ruler of the Khalkha Mongols and grandfather of Zanabazar, ordered construction of the ErdeneZuu monastery in 1585 after his meeting with the 3rd Dalai Lama.

Day 3Kharakhorum – Horseman’s Camp – Tövkhön monastery

Today after good breakfast in a ger camp, we drive to horseman’s camp and meet with him. Upon arrival we will start preparing our horse trip with Mongolian horses, and going a short trip with local horse guides to do for next riding days. Then, after lunch in the afternoonwe will start riding to Tövkhön monastery.
On the way you will enjoy the beautiful nature massif of the Khangai, combining to itself as a green carpet meadow,where grazing cattle, yurt nomads, volcanic valleys, streams and rivers, virgin forests, far behind them are blue mountains.Overnight near the Tövkhön monastery.

Day 4-6 Tövkhön monastery – The Orkhon Valley

Over the next three days, accompanied by your local guides, you will have unforgettable moments in the roads, and in the evening during dinner funny conversations, joke with your guides, and lots and lots of stars in the clear night sky.All this time, your vehicle will accompany you for lunch and in the evening for dinner and camping.
This morning we visit the Tövkhön monastery, nestled on the wooded foothills of the Khangai. This small temple with the name “Tövkhön” or “Duvkhen” by Tibetan, and “Temple of Creation Work” by Mongolian was built by Zanabazar in 1654, the first religious leader of Mongolia. After lunch riding to waterfalls of Orkhon.
In the evening arrival in waterfalls of Orkhon. This waterfall formed by combination volcanic eruption and earthquakes some 20.000 years ago cascades down from a height 24 meters. Dinner and overnight in a tent near the waterfall.
In this morning after breakfast we will riding to the family nomad. Lunch on the way and in the afternoon we will get there.

Day 7-10Walk on foot in the NaimanNuur–Nomad camp

Now, it’s time to walking. Today after breakfast in a nomad camp we leave our vehicle and horses and going on foot to the NaimanNuur, accompanied by pack animals, or yaks/horsesexactly, who will carry our provisions and our things, as well as materials for camping.
NaimanNuur formed 20,000 years ago by the eruption of several volcanoes, plus earthquakes and all this combines with movement of two tectonic plates. As a result,was formed trough-shaped valley with eight different lakes, connected by underground water channels.This is one of the wild places of nature, uninhabited, throughout the length of the valley scattered volcanic rocks, swamplands, the two sides of mountains with forests and beautiful nature.
Last day return to nomad camp. Relax after an exhausting hiking.Enjoy tea and coffee, photographing, small hiking and conversations with the family, or read a book around the family yourt.

Day 11Nomad camp – Tsenkher hot spring

Today we will drive to hot spring of Tsenkher. This water is at85,5°C. Curative water and amazing nature featured by wooden mountains make this an excellent place for relax. Night bath is great. Sitting in the pool drinking while seeing stars at the dark sky is one of the favorite activity in here. The open air-baths are recommended.

Day 12Tsenkher hot spring – Tsetserleg – Khögnö Khan National Park

In this morning, after breakfast drive to the Tsetserleg. Tsetserleg or “Garden”is capital of Arkhangai province.One of beautiful city in country was founded in 1631, whentheZayaGegeen’s monastery
was built with the initiative of ZayaGegeen just in front of the huge granite massif known as BulganUul (1950 m). You will visit this monastery, now is local musieum. Also, you walk through the city, local market, photography as you wish. Then lunch in the city. Then drive toKhögnö Khan. In the evening arrival in KhögnöKhan. It’s will be our last stop on the way. This place called ElsenTasarkhai or “Little Gobi”, erected in the middle of the plains. The ecosystem of this park is particularly interesting,because the steppe and the taiga meet here. So, we can find a fauna and a flora that are characteristic of these two ecosystems, and also some wonderful landscapes, with the granite formations of Khögnö Khan. In there you can have an optional camel riding on the sand dunes.

Day 13Khögnö Khan National Park–KhustainNuruu National park – Ulaanbaatar

Drive to the KhustainNuruu. It’s our last stop on the way. KhustainNuruu National park is famous for the successful reintroduction project of the Takhi or Przewalski’s horse. Walk through the forests of larch and observation of these semi-wild horses in their pasture in the evening. Then, after lunch we getting in Ulaanbaatar. Shop at cashmere and souvenir shops.
Farewell dinner with your interpreter and driver in a Mongolian restaurant.
