Day 1Arrival in Ulaanbaatar and city tour

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar the capital city of Mongolia. Our guide and driver will greet you at the airport. Transfer to your hotel. Depends on time of your arrival, taken on city sightseeing tour including a visit the Gandantegchilen Monastery or “Great Place of Complete Joy”.It features a 26.5-meter-high statue of Avalokiteśvara. Then our tour takes you to the Chinggis Khan monument on the Sukhbaatar square which is heart of the city, and visit the Museum of National History. In the evening, you will enjoy a Mongolian Folk Music and Dance Performance “TumenEkh”. Then welcome lunch in a Mongolian restaurant.

Day 2Ulaanbaatar – The Nomad Camp

In the morning drive to the southern region of province Tov, where waiting us the family nomad, with whom you will share the coming days. On the road you discover the first Mongolian pictures: great green steppes, flocks, isolated yurts and riders on small sturdy horses galloping …
Arriving in your host family.You will be greeted with a hot nomadic lunch and traditional Mongolian tea.Then you willdiscover the secret of the Mongolian yurt, and will learn how to mount the various elements of the yourt, such us mesh walls, floors, two central posts, the circle, how cover the felt, and you will live a few days in the same yurt that you have built.
Inside of the yourt you will find a very beautiful, besides mysterious ornaments and motifswhich adorn all elements of the yurt, including the furniture.In the afternoon enjoy small hiking, photographing the charming landscape and wildlife, you may also enjoy tea and conversations with the family, or read a book around the family yourt.

Day 3-6 Discover daily activities of the breeders and the farm

Now, for 4 days you spend the day in your host family, to discover the nomadic lifestyle. You will have one full day to observe what nomads do daily, will learn their customs and traditions and taste home cooked meals. Volunteering to help nomads is available to milk animals, fetch water, prepare drinks and regional dishes, distilling traditional Mongolian vodka, cook traditional meals and cookies, make dairy products from milk, tend livestock, collect horses riding on horseback, see how horses are caught, play traditional games, help milking animals and much more.
Traditionally, tasks around the camp are given to women and those who need to get away from returning to men.

Day 7Nomad camp –Manzuchirmonastery – Ulaanbaatar

Your stay comes to an end and you leave in the morning the nomad camp. You make your goodbyes to your host family. Taking the road to the Manzuchirmonastery, where the remains of an important lamasery built in the eighteenth century. It was almost completely destroyed in the 1930s during the communist purges, and is being rebuilt in recent years. Built on a rocky outcrop, it overlooks a beautiful valley surrounded by small pine forests and crossing streams. Walk around the site.
Then, after lunch on the way, return in Ulaanbaatar.Shop at cashmere and souvenir shops. Then farewell dinner with your interpreter and driver.
