This nomadic lifestyle trip designed by an extension “discovery” allows you to experience and understand the traditional nomadic culture and enjoy the Mongolian most famous sites.Immersion for 5 days in a particularly welcoming family, you discover their daily borrowing customs and ancestral know-how, but still retained by a third of the Mongolian population. You’llhave a truly, but a little difficult life experience closer to the nomadic way of life. You will share the family life of a couple and two children, their work comes more informal time to relax or exchange during warm evenings in the yurt. Your hosts you learn gestures passed down for generations and necessary for livestock farming.Then combine all this with a visit to the ruins of Karakorum, with the monastery Erdene – Zuu, and others attractions of famous Orkhon Valley.
Arrive in Ulaanbaatar the capital city of Mongolia. Our guide and driver will greet you at the airport. Transfer to your hotel. Depends on time of your arrival, taken on city sightseeing tour including a visit the Gandantegchilen Monastery or “Great Place of Complete Joy”.It features a 26.5-meter-high statue of Avalokiteśvara. Then our tour takes you to the Chinggis Khan monument on the Sukhbaatar square which is heart of the city, and visit the Museum of National History. In the evening, you will enjoy a Mongolian Folk Music and Dance Performance “Tumen Ekh”. Then welcome lunch in a Mongolian restaurant.
In the morning drive to the southern region of province Tov, where waiting us the family nomad, with whom you will share the coming days. On the road you discover the first Mongolian pictures: great green steppes, flocks, isolated yurts and riders on small sturdy horses galloping.
Arriving in your host family.You will be greeted with a hot nomadic lunch and traditional Mongolian tea.Then you willdiscover the secret of the Mongolian yurt, and will learn how to mount the various elements of the yourt, such us mesh walls, floors, two central posts, the circle, how cover the felt, and you will live a few days in the same yurt that you have built.
Inside of the yourt you will find a very beautiful, besides mysterious ornaments and motifswhich adorn all elements of the yurt, including the furniture.In the afternoon enjoy small hiking, photographing the charming landscape and wildlife, you may also enjoy tea and conversations with the family, or read a book around the family yourt. Dinner and evening with the family
Now, for 4 days you spend the day in your host family, to discover the nomadic lifestyle. You will have one full day to observe what nomads do daily, Iearn their custom and tradition and taste home cooked meals. Volunteering to help nomads is available to milk animals, fetch water, prepare drinks and regional dishes, cook traditional meals and cookies, make dairy products from milk, tend livestock, collect horses riding on horseback, see how horses are caught, play traditional games, help milking animals and much more.
Traditionally, tasks around the camp are given to women and those who need to get away from returning to men.
Drive to the Khustain Nuruu. It’s our last stop on the way. Khustain Nuruu National park is famous for the successful reintroduction project of the Takhi or Przewalski’s horse. Walk through the forests of larch and observation of these semi-wild horses in their pasture in the evening.
Today you visit the buddhist hermitage Tövkhön or “Temple of Art”, nestled on the wooded foothills of the Khangai. This lovely monastery was built by Zanabazar, in 1654, the first religious leader of Mongolia. Walking through a beautiful forest.
The Orkhon valley is one of the most populated Mongolia, because this region has fertile soil. In the evening arrive and visit the famous waterfalls of Orkhon. The waterfall formed by combination volcanic eruption and earthquakes some 20.000 years ago cascades down from a height 24 meters.After lunch drive to Tsenkher hot spring. After having a relax, you can hike along the surrounding forested mountain and in the evening enjoy taking a hot spring bath. His curative water and amazing nature featured by wooden mountains make this an excellent place for relax. Night bath is great. Sitting in the pool drinking while seeing stars at the dark sky is one of the favorite activity in here
In this morning, after breakfast drive to the Tsetserleg. Tsetserleg or “Garden” is capital of Arkhangai province. One of beautiful city in country was founded in 1631, whenthe Zaya Gegeen’s monastery was built with the initiative of Zaya Gegeen just in front of the huge granite massif known as Bulgan Uul (1950 m). You will visit this monastery, now is local musieum. Also, you walk through the city, local market, photography as you wish. Then lunch in the city. Then drive toKhögnö Khan. In the evening arrival in Khögnö Khan. It’s will be our last stop on the way. This place called Elsen Tasarkhai or “Little Gobi”, erected in the middle of the plains. The ecosystem of this park is particularly interesting, because the steppe and the taiga meet here. So, we can find a fauna and a flora that are characteristic of these two ecosystems, and also some wonderful landscapes, with the granite formations of KhögnöKhan. In there you can have an optional camel riding on the sand dunes.
Drive back to Ulaanbaatar. Shop at cashmere and souvenir shops.
Farewell dinner with your interpreter and driver in a Mongolian restaurant.
